When will the moratorium on new manuscripts be lifted?

We do not know at this time. If you would like to be on the list to be notified when the moratorium is over, please send an email to submissions@IndyPublish.com with "New Manuscript" in the Subject heading.

Are there people/organizations that I could hire that would publicize my self-published work (press releases, book reviews, TV & radio interviews, etc,)?

You may want to contact an agent to assist you with appearances and interviews. The Industry Links page in the Authors Resources section can help you locate one. The back sections of Writer's Digest, Publisher's Weekly, and the Publisher Marketing Association newsletter have a lot of advertisements for PR and marketing services.

What is the quality of the books produced by IndyPublish?

We use a high quality, acid-free, book-grade opaque paper stock. All books with trim sizes of 6" x 9" or smaller are printed on a 60# natural shade opaque. Larger books are printed on a 50# white. Paperback covers are printed on a bright white 80# cover stock.

Our books are comparable in quality to traditionally published books. However, we use print-on-demand (POD) technology to produce our books. POD uses toner for printing of the cover and the interior. As such, unlike traditional offset printing, the 1st book may not be same as the 100th copy due to variance in the level of toner.

Can I use my own imprint if I publish my book through IndyPublish?

Yes we do allow the use of your own imprint label name. Your imprint would appear on the cover of the book, on the title page, and on the copyright page as the publisher. However, due to the structure of our distribution arrangements, people purchasing the book at online sites like Amazon.com may see IndyPublish as the publisher. Book stores ordering via their databases may also see the book as being published by IndyPublish.

What author discounts do I get on purchasing copies of my book?

As the author, you would receive a discount of 25% when purchasing copies of your own book from IndyPublish (no maximum nor minimum order required). You will receive the author discount of 30% when purchasing 20 or more copies or 35% discount on 99 or more copies per order.

Where would my IndyPublish book be distributed?

Your book would be available worldwide through Ingram, the leading U.S. book wholesale distributor, at leading online booksellers such as Amazon and Barnes, and can be ordered at thousands of bookstores via the books-in-print database. But if you want the book to be physically available in certain bookstores, you would have to convince those bookstores to do so.

If I publish my book through IndyPublish, am I required to make any book purchase?

You do not have to purchase any book at all, and we would still be able to publish and distribute your title to the leading booksellers.
